Denardos Alexander - Josef (kampiello Corfu, 1895-1974)

Corfiot musician and conductor, descended from music family (that the last member nowadays is Mrs Kleio Denardou). He was a shoemaker and he left his job due to the usic. According to Mr. Sp. Montzenigos, on June of 1912 he established choir at the village St. Mattheos, that desolvre after some months due to the Valkan War. On July of 1924 he create a choir appart from thirty members, the Kalafationon Choir of Corfu, and he made an apperance on a ceremony of St. Spyridon church (12.12.1924). He had also created many other choirs (vatos choir, etc). On August of 1925, Denardos made also the Corfu Choir, apart from 45 members, that after two months renamed to "Music Association "Samaras" ". The Kalafationon Choir at the same period made a union with the Corfu Choir. This new bigger choir, accompanied by the symfonic orchestra gave great coscerts ( On the park of Ano Spianade, at the municipal theatre and infront of the hotel Bella Venezia will general Pagkalos was visiting Corfu island. When Denardos leave Corfu, "Samaras Choir" accede to the music School of Corfu. On 1932 Denardos achieve his diploma on music from KOTh and he started to establish Phiularmonic (Rodoleivos, Grevena, Agrinio, etc). During the civil war he established the Philarmonic of EMS. After that, he come back to COrfu and he remain for a while, as a director of Philarmonic Society Mantzaros (that he left due to economic reasons). He continued his artistic path arround the country, establishing new Philarmonics (Amfissa, Filiatra, etc.), and then he returned to Corfu for the rest of his life. Corfu music School honored him by giving to him the tiutle of the Honorly President. He wrote many music peaces for voice and music for Mantolinata, but there are not a lot saved.
