Our philarmonic from early in the morning, takes part in the litanies of the Easter Sunday, that all the cristinic churches have. And at the last litany of the town, this of the St. Spyridon church, on the last decades there is a sound different from all the aothers. it is the sound of Sotirios Kritikos triumphal marsch, "Marcia trionfale", which melody is identified with "Philarmonic Society Mantzaros". it is the "marcia Trinfale" of Kritikos.
Marcia Trionafale is a torrent of music excitement that rivet the audience without any doubt about the holy look of this triumphal marsch. The melody begin with three simple notes making a sound same to a sound which is coming from far away. As if somebody transport the message of the resurection, the message of the victory. The band, become one with this mlodical sound. the three primative notes recreate the motive of the marsch all the time, and the woodwinds seem to accept the message of happyness with a special music way, that is characterized by sweet and beautiful sounds. With a final crescendo the composer levate the audience to a higher holy sound of glory, to bring after that again back to the melody of happy notes, with the emotion of all the band.
At the end, the band is leaded to a break of enthusiasm, as it is let to a sence that make our fantasy to shed tears from happiness. And into this glory of music with the smell of nostalgy, there is kritikos. This is the reason why Mantaros when perform this marcia see to play mechanically, ecstaticly. As if there is a magnet that pull her to an excelent perform. May it be because Mantzaros Philarmonic and Trionafale are a union. perhaps because Kritikos and Band are a union.
And Trionfale seems to be a pat that lead us to the great conductor of FEM, as there is the excellent describe of a corfiot musician "Sotiris Kritikos, your music speak to you. How good would it be if you could wake up for a while, dressed into the colors of the sea and of the sky, to listen to your descendant of the same kind and color, playing your music. Creating tradition and contrition.
